There is no place for corruption and nepotism: Nahid
Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Md. Nahid Islam has assured to take steps to ensure justice for all the incidents of torture and persecution of journalists in the country, including the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Rooney. At the same time, he said that there is no place for corruption and nepotism, indicating the formation of an independent media commission. When asked about the fact that many people can now file a case against someone due to a personal dispute, Nahid Islam said, "We have instructions that those who were not involved in the crime should not be punished in any way." Even if there are cases, they will be taken on the basis of clear investigation. Specific instructions have been given to the Ministry of Law in that regard.
When attention was drawn to the widespread corruption in DFP and PIB, the adviser said, "We have said that there is no place for corruption and nepotism." Institutions should be completely neutral.
